There was a dream as a driving force. The year was 1954, in Caxias do Sul, the heart of the Serra Gaúcha. At that time, Severino and Angelina Toigo were lovingly dedicated to making jams by hand. From the manual, homemade work, the family company called Doces Toigo was born.
With everyone's involvement and commitment, the company grew and strengthened, resulting in a solid business with great potential that had already been conquering families and palates beyond the limits of Serra Gaúcha. And it was for this growth that the company, in the mid-1970s, gained a new name: Doces Vergel, which means “fruit garden”.
With more than 6 decades of experience, Doces Vergel expanded its product mix, changing its name to Vergel Alimentos to contemplate the constant news of the brand. Improving and modernizing processes, Vergel wants to be at your table offering flavor and nutrition without leaving behind the affection in the manufacture of each product, as it was in the beginning, by the skillful hands of its founders.
